Resumen
La historia de Cehegín se inicia con la ciudad romana de Begastri, pasando en manos diferentes asentamientos y civilizaciones, hasta llegas a mano cristiana de los templarios, quienes introdujeron el culto a María Magdalena, cuya iglesia fue edificada a partir del siglo XVI por la Orden de Santiago y se prolongó hasta el siglo XVIII. La iglesia contaba con numerosos elementos ornamentales como un retablo polícromo.

Abstract
The history of Cehegín begins with the Roman city of Begastri, passing in the hands of different settlements and civilizations, until you reach the Christian hand of the Templars, who introduced the cult of Mary Magdalene, whose church was built from the 16th century by the Order from Santiago and lasted until the 18th century. The church had numerous ornamental elements such as a polychrome altarpiece.
