Resumen
El Municipio de Cehegín ha sido un lugar por donde han pasado multitud de culturas y han dejado una huella en él. En primer lugar, comenta los asentamientos romanos y visigodo de Begastri, destacando de esta última su importancia como sede episcopal. Tras la reconquista acuden a Cehegín las órdenes militares y tras la caída de Granada la villa experimenta un crecimiento de su población. En la Edad Moderna los impuestos ahogan a la población y en la Ilustración la situación empieza a revertir con una incipiente burguesía. En el siglo XIX Cehegín empieza a recibir cierto turismo atraídos por el paisaje y la virgen de las Maravillas. Por último, para cerrar el artículo se hace una pequeña recopilación de noticas breves de principios del siglo XX.

Abstract
The Municipality of Cehegín has been a place where a multitude of cultures have passed and have left a mark on it. In the first place, it comments on the Roman and Visigothic settlements of Begastri, highlighting its importance as an episcopal seat of the latter. After the reconquest, the military orders came to Cehegín and after the fall of Granada the town experienced a growth in its population. In the Modern Age, taxes drown the population and in the Enlightenment the situation began to revert with an incipient bourgeoisie. In the 19th century, Cehegín began to receive a certain amount of tourism attracted by the landscape and the Virgin of Las Maravillas. Finally, to close the article, a small compilation of brief news from the early twentieth century is made.
